Butterfly pea is a perennial climbing plant belonging to the Fabaceae family. It grows as a slender vine that twines around supports and produces solitary, showy flowers with an intense deep-blue hue, sometimes edged with white or yellow. When dried, they retain much of their color and are easily rehydrated, making them well suited for herbal infusions and culinary applications where visual appeal is as important as flavor.
